Cooler Florida Temperatures Mean Disney’s Water Parks Are Closed
For those heading down to Florida this week, it’s going to be cool by sunny Orlando standards! According to a recent article in USA Today, several water parks in Central Florida are closing due to the cold temperatures.
At 9 am this morning, the temperature in Orlando was 45℉ with the highs today hovering in the love 50s. According to AccuWeather, “During the peak of the cold weather, highs are forecast to range from the lower 30s over the southern Appalachians to the middle 60s in South Florida,” Across much of the area, it seems Tuesday night will be the chilliest, with temps dropping into the mid-30s overnight into Wednesday morning.
As a result, a Disney spokesperson Charles Stovall confirmed that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed through Wednesday, Jan. 22, on account of the cold forecasted temperatures. “As a reminder, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is closed for its annual refurbishment at this time,” Stovall said.
It’s the same over at Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort and Aquatica in Orlando. Both parks have announced the closure on social media. Here’s a look at Universal announcing the closure:
