Disney’s Blizzard Beach Hosts One Of The ‘‘World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’’
This past Thursday morning (June 20th), 200 guests arrived at Disney’s Blizzard Beach with one goal in mind, learning how to swim! They all took part in the 10th annual “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” at Walt Disney World Resort.
Rowdy Gaines, the three-time Olympic gold medal swimmer, started everyone off with the first lesson. Children of all ages were guided in learning basic swim strokes.Children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America were also among those who participated.
Of the 83 sites in Florida, Disney’s Blizzard Beach was one of the largest. The global event was staged at locations in 28 different countries over the course of 24 hours. The purpose of “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’’ is to educate families on the importance of learning to swim.
