Get a First Look at the Epcot Experience Exhibition – NOW OPEN!
October 1st marks an important milestone in the future of Epcot theme park! Not only does it mark the beginning of the all-new “Epcot Forever” evening fireworks display but Disney Imagineering has also launched a new exhibition showcasing all of the exciting changes coming to the theme park in the years ahead!
This engaging and immersive new showcase provides an in-depth look at the park’s transformations by blending cutting edge technology with fun personal moments to honor everything guests love about Epcot.
Located inside the Odyssey Events Pavilion (between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion)- the Epcot Experience invites guests into a multi-faceted celebration of the past, present and future of the theme park. Let’s look at some of the ways this is done!
360-Degree Film Presentation
A focal point of the new exhibition, guests enter a large circular, darkened room where you are surrounded by a seamless 360-degree floor-to-ceiling screen showing a continuous 12-minute film celebrating the past, present and future of Epcot.
The immersive presentation displays archival footage going back to well before Epcot officially opened in 1982 and takes guests on a journey to present day and beyond. It showcases the new pavilion icons that will integrate into the park and previews experiences in development. This includes:
- The PLAY! pavilion
- A new vision for Spaceship Earth
- Sensational new attractions based on popular films
- The park’s forthcoming nighttime spectacular, “HarmonioUS”
In the center of the room, guests will also find a 3D model of Epcot that appears to continuously change in time with the film as projection-mapping technology highlights the different areas of the parks and the changes they’ll undergo!
Special Photo Opportunities
You can have your photos taken inside four-dimensional photo locations specially designed for the Epcot Experience. These backdrops are perfect for sharing on social media and will make you feel like you’re standing atop the iconic Spaceship Earth or shrunk to the size of Remy from “Ratatouille” among others!
Display Cases With Memorabilia
Throughout the exhibition, you’ll find display cases featuring artefacts, memorability and other awesome items showcasing the past, present and future of Epcot. One of our favorites is the Guardians of the Galaxy Case.
Here’s a photo op/exhibit showing the ride vehicle for Epcot’s upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy” attraction.
Here’s some information on the new Mary Poppins attraction heading to the UK Pavilion.
Other highlights include:
- An Epcot park map and medallion from opening day, Oct. 1, 1982, plus a commemorative opening day park ticket
- Epcot pin sets from 1982 and present day
The Epcot Experience also features attraction posters from throughout the park’s history, plus experiences still on the horizon. Here are a couple of our favorites:
