Guy Fieri Responds to Suggestions That He’s Ideally Suited to Play Ursula in Live-Action Remake
Last week, we here at MickeyBlog shared the exciting news that Melissa McCarthy was being considered for the role of Ursula in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. However, many Disney fans think instead that restauranteur and culinary personality Guy Fieri would be ideally suited for the role.
The Twitter-verse exploded with the suggestion earlier this week. Take a look:
okay…hear me out pic.twitter.com/7WpKxiYw2B
— Dom Corona (@domcorona_) July 5, 2019
It all started when Twitter user Dom Corona shared an image of Ursula, who has purple skin, next to a snap of Fieri, decked out in purple complete with his signature spiky white-blond hair. The picture came with the caption “”okay… hear me out,” in reference to Disney’s casting choices for the upcoming film.
The post quickly went viral with over half a million likes and became a talking point on Twitter over the weekend. Finally, Fieri himself decided to get in on the discussion:
We got no troubles ?
Life is the bubbles ?
Under the sea ? https://t.co/SlepakSULp— Guy Fieri (@GuyFieri) July 6, 2019
Here at MickeyBlog love what a good sport Fieri was about the casting suggestion and Twitter does as well. Since posting on July 6th the post has been liked over 630,000 times!
After all the fun, it’s safe to say that Fieri and Disney fans are definitely on board with this casting recommendation:
In all seriousness, if you play Ursula, I will buy the movie ticket to watch it day one

One other user chimed in with the following:
This might be the first live action I might enjoy if this were true

However, the fun hasn’t stopped there. Another Twitter user was quick to suggest that the role of the cantankerous chef in The Little Mermaid should go to……
okay, hear me out, Gordon Ramsay as Prince Eric’s angry French chef, Louis pic.twitter.com/wlayHtq4iX

We think both celebrity chefs would be perfect for the roles suggested above. How about you!?
