The Dos and Don’ts of Disney Bounding at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
One of the things that we here at MickeyBlog love most about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is that it’s all about living your own Star Wars story. This new area of Disneyland theme park is designed to be fully immersive. Guests are encouraged to choose an affiliation (Resistance or First Order) and help your cause through secret missions and a wide array of adventures. It’s no wonder then that so many Disney theme park guests are keen to dress the part! Disney bounding is a popular past time for Disney regulars and now you can add your love of Star Wars into the mix.
However, for those looking to dress up for your visit to Black Spire Outpost its important to first get up to speed about Disneyland Resort’s costume policy. For instance, costumes MAY NOT be worn by guests 14 years of age or older. However, appropriate bounding (dressing in outfits inspired by Star Wars) is permitted. To help you understand the difference Disney has come up with the following guidelines.
Permitted Attire Includes:
- Bounding: piecing together traditional clothing items that when worn together, serve as a recognizable tribute to Star Wars characters
- Batuuan attire: wearing outfits inspired by the villagers of Batuu—muted tones, vests, layers, etc.
Not Permitted Attire Includes:
- All robes or military-style attire
- Masks, face paint, elaborate headwear, blasters or holsters (lightsabers are allowed) or hard items such as body armor, helmets or kneepads
- Full character suits
Guests should also note that some of the items sold at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge cannot be worn inside the land. Guess should also note that proper footwear must be worn at all times.
