Quiet Spaces and Restful Spots at Walt Disney World
New and exciting attractions make our favorite theme parks fresh and fun for even the most seasoned Disney traveler. And we all want to be the first to enjoy the latest new attraction and experience the newest land opening. However, what do you do when you find yourself at the theme parks in a busy and bustling area filled with excitement, but want to step away from the magic for a moment?
Disney Resorts
Before we focus on the theme parks, one of the best spots to find a quiet respite are the Disney Resorts. With immersive theming and unique Disney touches, these properties are fun to explore. And – you don’t have to be a resort guest to do so! Common areas such as the resort lobby and the grounds are open to the public during the day and some (Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom) even offer free tours of the property on select days!
The Wilderness Lodge fireplaces, the Contemporary’s Grand Concourse and ALL of Fort Wilderness’ Beach and Trails are some of my favorite spots!
With convenient Monorail transportation connecting the Disney’s Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts to Epcot and Magic Kingdom and the Skyliner transportation connecting Disney’s Riviera Resort, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century and Art of Animation — it’s not difficult to find a Disney Resort (or two or three) to explore within proximity of the theme parks!
