Ultimate Disney Gift Guide for Disney Fans – Part 2
Is your holiday shopping finished? Of course not! You’re not procrastinating, though. You’re just thinking that you still have plenty of time to buy the perfect gift for that special Disney fan in your life. Well, I have some bad news. Christmas is less than three weeks away, and if you’re Jewish, Hanukkah is halfway over! You need to shop right now. Don’t worry. MickeyBlog has you covered. Here are six more great gift ideas this holiday season.
A Fuzzy Spirit Jersey
Look, I don’t claim to be the most fashion-forward person on the planet. Sometimes, I’ll notice a fashion trend about three years after it’s become passé. For this reason, I can’t speak to the specifics of when Spirit Jerseys became a thing at Disney theme parks. All I know is that they’re everywhere right now.
I’m not even joking. A few weeks before our most recent trip, my wife indicated that she’d like to buy a Spirit Jersey or two for the trip. I looked at her like a textbook clueless husband, a part I play all too well. After some googling, I learned about these stylish oversized shirts that apparently became a thing in 2014. When I reached Walt Disney World, however, I realized that I didn’t need to do any research. The shirts were so ubiquitous that even an oblivious dude like me would have noticed.
Disney theme parks have become ground zero for the Spirit Jersey craze. You don’t have to be at the parks to wear one, though. In fact, putting on a Spirit Jersey at home will remind you of the park, a hidden benefit. While ShopDisney is currently selling more than 30 of them, I recommend this one as a gift. Because who doesn’t love a fuzzy shirt that says Disney on it?
A Disney Giclée
I’ll save you the trouble of googling Giclée. It’s a unique technology for fine arts digital prints. It’s existed since 1991, but the production has ramped up in recent years as digitization processes have improved dramatically. Think of them as rectangular prints akin to animation cels, only highly detailed. Giclées are dynamic choices as household wall decorations.
On ShopDisney, you’ll discover almost 300 different Giclées available for sale. Films like Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Lilo & Stitch, and Peter Pan have their most memorable images and themes captured in Giclée form. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are also the stars of many Giclées.
For a price of $120-$150 to start, you can find the perfect pieces for the walls of your home. You may think that’s a lot of money for a special kind of painting. Before you dismiss the idea, however, I ask you to remember how much you’ve spent on the decorations throughout your home. Upon reflection, I think you’ll realize that $150 for a high-quality Disney painting isn’t bad. Plus, you’ll be gifting someone you love with something that they’ll think about every time they see it on the wall. You can’t put a price on that sort of emotional impact.
Vacation Mode Shirt
Last year, I championed the Home line of clothing. A company called The Home T sells an entire line of products based on the thought that everyone likes to be reminded of home. Their collection celebrates many states in the designs, but their primary products involve Disney. I still warmly recommend them. You can take a look at their line of Disney Home apparel here. Anecdotally, I think I see the basic version of this shirt more than any single piece of clothing at Walt Disney World.
Since you may have already given someone a Home t-shirt, however, I have a different suggestion for 2018. Take a look at Disney’s own version of the same concept. They’re selling Vacation Mode raglans for women. For roughly $30, you can purchase an officially licensed version of the theme that Disney IS home to many people. Plus, it’s a really good-looking “wear it anywhere” shirt.
Family Sleepwear
The family that dresses together sleeps together. That’s how that saying goes, isn’t it? Okay, probably not. Just go with me here. One of the best parts of the holiday season is when everyone is sitting around in their pajamas, relaxing by the warming glow of the yuletide decorations. Hold that happy thought for just a moment.
2018 is the year of The Incredibles. As I type this, it’s one of the four most successful movies released this year. In terms of merchandising, it’s the focal point of Disney’s Pixar campaign this year, as you can learn here. The Incredibles even dominated Halloween, as many families dressed up together as the superhero family.
You can combine these two thoughts with a special apparel offer. ShopDisney sells an entire line of Incredibles family sleepwear. You and your loved ones can rock the same PJs as you savor every last second of the holiday season.
Rock ‘Em Socks
You’re going to think I’m making this up, but I’m not. An enterprising company has created an apparel line that allows you to wear your favorite theme parks. Specifically, you’ll wear them on your feet.
The company is Rock ‘Em Socks, and the product is, well, socks. Okay, you might be thinking that socks are a terrible gift. I’m right there with you on the subject. What I’ve discovered in my many years on this planet is that this opinion isn’t universal. Some perfectly normal-seeming humans love to get socks as gifts. My wife is one of these freaks. Over the years, I’ve accepted that what bores me is blissful to her naturally icy feet.
Rock ‘Em Socks combine her two loves, socks and Disney. As you’ll see on their product page, you can purchase prints based on Spaceship Earth, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and many other Disney properties. Some of the designs are quite clever, too. While the socks aren’t cheap at $14, that’s a relatively inexpensive gift overall, right?
A Trip to Disneyland
Quick, where could you take your family that’s better than the Happiest Place on Earth? I think you know where I’m going with this. The answer is nowhere. The joy of a Disneyland vacation is right there in the title. It is THE Happiest Place on Earth. Going anywhere else is settling for second best.
While you plan your perfect holiday, your goal is to feel like a hero to your loved ones, right? You want them to open their gifts and think, “This is even better than I could have possibly dreamt of!” What’s the present that checks this box? It’s Disneyland! You’re giving them the promise of a joyous vacation.
As The Simpsons shows, kids will go to ridiculous lengths to persuade their parents into visiting a theme park. You’re saving them the effort with this gift! Best of all, it’s an easy vacation to set up. Simply speak to an agent at MickeyTravels to book your family’s dream vacation. It’s the ultimate holiday gift!
