Disneyland Wait Times for May 2024
The weather is changing at Disneyland Resort, as spring warmth and sunny days delight fans.
During the month of April, guests happily ran to Disneyland for a healthy dose of euphoria.
The various after-hours events were all sellouts, and Disney California Adventure closed the month with Pixar Fest.
In short, this was a spectacular time for Disney fans…but how were the crowds?
Here are Disneyland’s wait times for May 2024.
About Disneyland Resort
I realize that I just provided a bit of a mixed message there.
Everything I said centered on April, but then I called it the May wait times article.
Don’t blame me. That’s how the arc of time works. We cannot discuss April wait times until the month ends.
April was quite the month at Disneyland. In a recent edition of MickeyBlog News, I raved about Pixar Fest.
I meant every word, too. Disney has really outdone itself this time, offering the best version of the event to date.
Elemental is one of the happiest films Pixar has ever made, and I’m openly in love with it.
Similarly, I have fond memories of Onward, the last movie I saw in theaters before the pandemic paused society for two years.
They’re centerpiece experiences at Pixar Fest, which explains why I expect sustained park interest throughout May and well into the summer.
How did that translate at the parks this month? Well, it’s not a big factor.
The event didn’t start until April 26th, which barely impacts the data.
Along those lines, the after-hours events like Disneyland After Dark don’t even count.
We’ll have to wait and see, but there’s one other factor that will probably matter.
Hyperspace Mountain has returned to Disneyland Park, which typically increases the demand for Space Mountain.

- Disneyland Monorail – 11 minutes, up 1
Overall, Disneyland Park guests waited for an average of 31 minutes per attraction, which is three minutes less than in March.
About Disney California Adventure
I already discussed the biggest factor at the park this month.
However, the other part of the conversation is significant. Pixar Fest was only open for four out of 30 days.
So, 85 percent of this month’s data isn’t impacted by the arrival of the popular event.
In short, this was a shockingly typical month at Disney California Adventure until Pixar Fest arrived.
Average Wait Times at Disney California Adventure
Here are the park’s average wait times over the past month:
- Radiator Springs Racers – 74 minutes, down 18
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! – 55 minutes, down 3
- Soarin’ over California – 54 minutes, down 5
- Toy Story Midway Mania! – 53 minutes, down 4
- WEBSLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure – 48 minutes, down 7

- Jumpin’ Jellyfish – 18 minutes, up 1
- Silly Symphony Swings – 15 minutes, down 4
- Golden Zephyr – 11 minutes, down 5
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic – 10 minutes, down 2
- Jessie’s Critter Carousel – 9 minutes, down 1
Overall, park guests stood in line for an average of 35 minutes per Disney California Adventure attraction.
That’s a two-minute drop from the March wait times.
Also, it reflects increased demand for Grizzly River Run as the weather heated up.
I’ll add that this park experienced an unusual amount of downtime during April, which may have impacted the data.
I’m unsure because if the struggle had caused guests to switch parks, Disneyland should have had higher wait times.
Since that didn’t happen, it probably didn’t matter much.
