Jason Kelce to Join ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’
After concluding his Hall of Fame NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce is ready to dive head-first into the world of sports media.
A new report from the Athletic has confirmed that the seven-time Pro Bowler is set to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown panel alongside host Scott Van Pelt and analysts Adam Schefter, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, and Michelle Beisner-Buck.

To make room for the former Eagle, it appears that Robert Griffin III will not return to ESPN’s weekly broadcast.
Kelce Is No Rookie
Despite only having been retired from the NFL for a couple of months, Kelce is no stranger to the media. He currently hosts the popular New Heights podcast with his brother Jason.
Last year, Kelce participated in the NFL Broadcasting and Media Workshop and appeared on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football during his bye week.

“This is all new territory for me,” Kelce said at the time. “I have even more respect for it now. It’s very hard to do something live, reactive of stimulus that just happened and having something clever and meaningful to say.”

According to reports, Kelce had been sought after by other NFL broadcasters, including NBC, CBS, and Amazon. Eventually, however, it was the Worldwide Leader in Sports who came out.
ESPN Has Also Added Bill Belichick
Kelce will now join former Patriots coach Bill Belichick as the big off-season additions for ESPN. Belichick is set to appear weekly on The Pat McAfee Show on Mondays during the NFL season.
Interestingly, it is McAfee, not ESPN, who will pay Belicheck for those appearances. The Pat McAfee show is licensed on ESPN and is not owned by the sports network.

While ESPN has not made the Kelce hiring official yet, with Disney’s upfronts just two weeks away, we should hear more soon.
