If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Pocohontas is part of the Ultimate Princess Celebration. This limited release series of dolls feature creations carefully crafted by artists across The Walt Disney Company.
This particular doll is the brainchild of Javier Garcia who really wanted to convey a sense of Pocahontas’ connection with nature. The finished look features a stunning gown and dramatic accessories!
This doll is part of a limited-edition collection of 9, 700 dolls and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Highlights include a dramatic two-tone shirt with tiered faux suede fringe. There is gold leaf embroidery on the pleated side of the dress. You’ll also find a chain belt with Meeko, Flit and compass charms.
We are absolutely smitten with the golden sunflower and feather collar. Pocohontas also features a long braided hairstyle, molded shoes and is fully poseable. A display stand comes with your purchase.
The doll also comes in an elegant window display package with gatefold cover, foil decorations and magnetic closure.
Here’s a bit of background on the artist of this treasure! Javiar Garcia was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico who has memories of visiting the US and Disneyland with his family. His career started as an apparel designer and he is now leads a team of designers.
We think you’ll agree that his passion for Disney and design and his passion for Disney characters definitely translates into Pocahontas.
When asked about why he picked this Princess, Javier said that it is her connection to nature. Pocahontas understands that she is part of something that is bigger than herself. The princess lived her life unselfishly and Javier believes in her ethos and learns from her compassion.
Pocahontas never felt or acted like she was superiors to anyone and is the epitome of a free spirit.
