ESPN Is Reportedly Eying Jason Kelce For ‘Monday Night Football’
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has only been retired from the NFL for a couple of weeks, but he may already have another job lined up.
According to PEOPLE, ESPN is eyeing Kelce for a sport on its Monday Night Football panel.
The weekly show is currently hosted by Scott Van Pelt. The current panel is made up of Adam Schefter, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, Robert Griffin III, and Michelle Beisner-Buck.
According to The Athletic, Robert Griffin III may not be returning to Monday Night Football. His exit would open up a slot for Kelce. In addition to ESPN, NBC, CBS, and Amazon Prime are also interested in having the former Eagle join their NFL coverage.
A Hall of Fame NFL Career
Widely considered one of the greatest centers in NFL history, Kelce was a seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion.
Off the football field, Kelce hosts the popular New Heights podcast with his brother Jason.
During his retirement announcement, Kelce stated that he wanted to remain a part of the Eagles organization in some capacity.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen for me, but I do know I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it — regardless of what the decision is,” he told the Philadelphia Inquirer before announcing his retirement. “Because I don’t want to ever feel like I’m on the outside looking in on these achievements and these accolades and these opportunities that largely represent entire cities and fan bases and organizations.”
Already well-versed in the media and with an airtight resume to back his opinions with, getting Kelce would be a coup for ESPN.
