One Former Fox X-Men Villain Would Be More Than Happy to Return
With Deadpool & Wolverine set to bridge the gap between the Fox X-Men movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are continuing to speculate about what characters will pop up in the film.
So far, we know that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra, Liev Schreiber will reprise his role as Sabertooth, and Aaron Sanford’s Pyro will make his long-awaited comeback. Other rumors, including the notion that we could see Halle Berry’s Storm or even Taylor Swift as Dazzler, remain unconfirmed.
With so many former X-Men heroes and villains set to return, many fans have wondered if we will see Kevin Durand’s The Blob show up again.
A Memorable X-Men Villain
Durand starred alongside Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so he would be a natural fit in the upcoming film. Interestingly, in an interview with Comicbook.com, Durnad revealed that Marvel had once had plans for him to come back for The Wolverine.
“I really should be because I remember when we were doing the scenes in Wolverine, he just kept saying ‘You’re going to end up with your own movie,’ and he really wanted me to come back and do the next Wolverine and The Blob was going to be the sumo wrestling champion in Japan when he goes to Tokyo but it never panned out,” Durand explained.
Should Marvel come calling, Durand says he would be more than happy to return.
“I’m game. I’m always game,” he said.
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on June 26, 2024.
