Come With Us to Disneyland After Dark’s Star Wars Nite!
Disneyland After Dark is a way for guests to enjoy Disneyland…well, after dark, aka after the park has closed to the general public!
Event themes include Pride Nite, Disney Channel Nite, and Sweethearts’ Nite, and the first night of Star Wars Nite was just held. We visited Disneyland for the galactic event and we’re here to show you everything we experienced!
Star Wars Nite Dates
In 2024, Star Wars Nite takes place at Disneyland Park on April 16, 18, 23, 25, and 30, and May 2, 7, and 9.
You need a separate ticket (in addition to or instead of a park ticket) to attend the event. Tickets range in price from $159 to $169 per person.
Event Hours
Star Wars Nite lasts from 9PM to 1AM, but guests can enter the park as early as 6PM. That gives ticketholders the opportunity to explore the park for an additional 3 hours before the event begins!
Map & Checking In
We arrived bright and early and headed straight to event check-in, which was located in Tomorrowland at that time.
Note that we had a Park Reservation, so we were able to enter Disneyland Park before 6PM.
At check-in, we were given an event map, a wristband, and a lanyard.
The map contains all the information you need to navigate Star Wars Nite, including all the showtimes for entertainment…
…photo opportunities…
…food, and more!
We also received a lanyard with a special Star Wars Nite credential.
The artist behind Star Wars Nite is Tony Sherg, who began his Disney career as a Cast Member in Tomorrowland.
And Magic Key holders can pick up a special keepsake at Mickey’s House in Toontown! We received a triangle Star Wars Nite patch with the Magic Key logo.
Characters
Characters are a super important part of Disneyland After Dark events and Star Wars Nite is no exception. We met Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia with R2-D2 over in Tomorrowland.
Other meet-and-greet opportunities include:
- Adventureland
- Jawas and R5-D4
- Critter Country
- Ewoks
- Frontierland
- BB-8
- Fantasyland
- Queen Amidala
- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- Ahsoka Tano
- C-3PO
- Fennec Shand
- Hera Syndulla and Chopper
- The Mandalorian with Grogu
- Tomorrowland
- Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and Imperial Stormtroopers
- Emperor Palpatine and Royal Guards
- Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and R2-D2
And we can’t forget Mickey and Minnie in their iconic Star Wars outfits! Minnie was wearing a BB-8 dress, while Mickey wore an R2-D2 t-shirt.
Below they were waving goodbye to guests around 12:30AM by the Main Street Disneyland Railroad station.
Entertainment
When it comes to entertainment, there was a LOT to take in! We visited Tomorrowland for the March of the First Order Featuring Captain Phasma.
There’s the captain!
Over on Main Street, U.S.A., you can declare your allegiance to the light or dark side. There was also a DJ at the Galactic DJ Party Zone!
The Fans of the Force Costume Cavalcade allowed guests dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters to participate in a special celebration.
The cavalcade started at Main Street, U.S.A. and ended in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, which was lit up in blue and red (aka the Light and Dark Side). Then everyone was able to snap a picture with Mickey and Minnie!
Merchandise
For merchandise, we spotted two specific items.
This C-3PO t-shirt says “Star Wars Day May the 4th Be With You 2024.”
And this gray hoodie says “2024 Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Nite” over a silhouette of Darth Vader’s helmet.
Food
For food, we ordered the Crab Critters at Royal Street Veranda. The tempered claw was perfectly battered with the right amount of crab meat, and the fritter was delicious. It was a nice portion size too!
We visited the Tropical Hideaway for the Pineapple and Ube Crescent Sundae for $8.49.
It was made with Dole Whip, popping moss, and chocolate drizzle.
Our MickeyBlog reporter was not really a fan of Ube but really enjoyed this treat! The green moss was made of cotton candy and the croissant was really fresh. It was the perfect sweet treat to finish the evening.
