Grizzly Hall Is Bare as the Country Bear Jamboree Sign Has Been Covered up in Frontierland
For over 50 years, the Country Bears have been entertaining audiences in the Magic Kingdom’s Froniterland in one form or another.
With their mixture of classic country music, Vaudevillian humor, and Disney charm, the Country Bears have enthralled audiences for generations and provided the kind of entertainment that is increasingly hard to find these days.
As we know, however, change is a constant at Walt Disney World, and last year, Disney announced that a brand new Country Bear show would be coming to Grizzly Hall.
While many fans were sad to hear that the original Magic Kingdom show was being removed, others were thrilled to hear that their favorite bears were sticking around. Such is the life of a Disney fan.
The Country Bear Jamboree Sign Has Been Covered
Today, however, when visiting Frontierland, we saw a harrowing sight. The original Country Bear Jamboree marquee sign has been removed from Grizzly Hall.
Although the Country Bear Jamboree has been closed since January 27th, the original show’s sign still loomed large over Frontierland.
Currently, the building sits unadorned as it waits for the Bears to work out their new show and return to performing.
A New Show Is in the Works
At this time, we do not have an opening date for the new Country Bear show. According to previous announcements, the show will still be an Opry-style jamboree. However, it will now see the bears reinterpreting classic Disney songs in different genres of country music.
These include bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and more!
While I am as excited as anyone for the new show (and relieved the Bears were not put on the chopping block), seeing a bare (get it?) Grizzly Hall today is still a punch to the gut.
