It’s official – after a nearly 50-year run and an epic sendoff from nostalgic fans, Country Bear Jamboree is closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom.

While the curtains have closed on the show as we know it, we’re excited for what’s to come for our favorite Vaudvillean bears.

At the 2023 D23 Expo, Disney announced that a new musical revue featuring Henry, Big Al, Trixie St. Claire, and all the rest will debut in Magic Kingdom sometime in 2024.
Walt Disney Imagineering is already working with Nashville-based artists to create a new, Opry-style show with fresh jokes, updated music, and a distinctly Disney flair.

Jamboree is Closed, Refurbishment Begins
Fans enjoyed the final performance of Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland on Friday night.
By Saturday morning, new signage appeared outside of Grizzly Hall.

In true Country Bear form, the sign features a punny play on words. Gotta love that so-bad-it’s-good Grizzly Hall humor!
Meanwhile, a new stage set-up appeared outside the playhouse overnight.

Don’t get your hopes up for an outdoor Country Bears performance, though. Our team confirmed that the stage is intended for use at an upcoming Cast Member event.
When Will Country Bear Jamboree Re-Open?
So far, we have little information on the attraction’s refurbishment timeline and eventual re-opening. Disney announced that the new show will debut sometime this year, but has not indicated how long the refurbishment is expected to take.

Unsurprisingly, fans are eager to experience the upcoming show. But patience is a must as we wait for (re)opening day.
