Josh D’Amaro Takes To Instagram To Praise Cast Members for Disney Springs Opening
This has been a crazy week Disney friends. Not only was there a massive reshuffling of Disney execs earlier in the week but Disney Springs also welcomed guests for the first time.
If you’ve been following along with us then you know new policies and procedures have been put into place at Disney World’s downtown shopping and entertainment district to keep guests safe including scaled back attendance, temperature checks, mandatory face masks, enhanced sanitation procedures and more.
As we look back on the last few days, what strikes us is that the reopening (apart from a few people grilling hotdogs) has gone off without a hitch and that wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the dedicated Cast Members.
Josh D’Amaro (former Walt Disney World President and current Chairman of Disney Parks, Experience and Products agrees and took to Instagram recently to give his heartfelt thanks.

Congratulations to the Disney Springs Cast and the whole Walt Disney World team on the spectacular reopening of Disney Springs this week. It was a special moment and one I will never forget as I move onto my new role. To all of the Cast Members who have warmly welcomed me into the Walt Disney World family….Thank You. To all of our guests that have stopped to say “hello” to me….Thank You. While my time here at WDW was relatively short, it was incredibly special. Our Resort will now be in the caring hands of @jeffvahle …an incredible leader and an amazing person. I will miss you all greatly. Please take care. #ThankYou #DisneyCastLife #DisneyParks #WaltDisneyWorld #magichasaname
In his awesome tribute above D’Amaro thanks all of the Cast Members and says that the spectacular re-opening of Disney Springs is something that he’ll remember in his new role. He will, of course, be filling the role vacated when Bob Chapek moved into Bob Iger’s post as CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
Disney veteran Jeff Vahle will be moving in to fill the role of President of Walt Disney World. Here’s another Instagram post form Jeff’s Instagram account showing a passing of the torch Instagram style

Yesterday was an important and much-anticipated day for Walt Disney World as we began welcoming guests back to Disney Springs. I'm heartened by these first steps toward bringing the magic back and so proud of our Cast’s incredible efforts to get us to this day. I'm beyond thrilled to be back as part of the WDW family and work alongside such a phenomenal team. It means a great deal to me to take on my new role as president of this very special place during this challenging time. I know that we will get through this together. I want to thank @joshdamaro for his amazing leadership and thrilled for him as he moves on to be our Chairman. I look forward to meeting you all soon. #WaltDisneyWorld #DisneySprings #DisneyCastLife #DisneyMagicMoments
With all their years of experience and expertise, we know that the Disney parks are in good hands during these unprecedented times! Though Universal Studios announced this week that they hope to be welcoming guests starting on June 5th, Walt Disney World and Disneyland are holding back at the moment.
In an email that went out to agents and guests today, Disney advised that guests that trips in June and July of this year are subject to change. However, things are gaining momentum over at Disney Springs with Disney shops and restaurants expected to open this weekend and other independently owned and operated shops slowly returning to business.
The best way to stay abreast of all of the exciting changes happening at Disney parks is to continue to follow along with MickeyBlog. We promise to keep you posted.
