A Crew Member Has Tragically Died During the Production of Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’
According to Deadline, a crew member working on the set of Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man series fell off the rafters this morning and has tragically passed away.
The unidentified rigger was working at Radford Studios when the terrible accident occurred. While the crew member was working on the set, Wonder Man was not filming at the time of the incident.
A Marvel spokesman subsequently confirmed the Deadline report and added, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.”
‘Wonder Man’ Is In Production
Wonder Man was initially set to start production last year but had to be delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The series is set to star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a stuntman who gains extraordinary powers.
Also starring in the series will be Ben Kingsley (reprising his role as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris.
The series is said to consist of 10 episodes and is being overseen by Destin Daniel Cretton.
While the series was initially set to debut in late 2023 or early 2024, that is no longer the case. By the looks of things, the series will not land until 2025. When it does get released, however, it will do so under the new Marvel Spotlight banner.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the crew member’s friends and family at this time.
