REVIEW: Dinner at the Reopened 1900 Park Fare in Disney World!
In case you haven’t heard, 1900 Park Fare finally reopened in Disney World after being closed since 2020!
We checked out breakfast at the character dining spot this morning, and now it’s time for dinner. Come along with us to try everything out!
Atmosphere
1900 Park Fare can be found inside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It serves breakfast from 8AM to 12PM and dinner from 4PM to 9PM — it’s also a character dining experience!
The theming here is designed to make you feel like you’re in the early 20th century. There’s whimsical decor like this carousel wallpaper…
…and some wonderful Disney artwork!
Make sure to check out Big Bertha, which is the turn-of-the-century organ from France that’s been at the hotel since 1988.
We already showed you an in depth look at things inside during our breakfast review, but there are a few changes during the dinner service.
One of them is that the tables have more glassware on them during breakfast than at dinner, which has a more minimalistic setting.
Now, let’s meet some characters!
Characters
The characters that visit with you during dinner are the same as the ones that you meet at breakfast. There’s Princess Tiana…
…Mirabel…
…Cinderella…
…and Aladdin.
They will give you a card with their signatures on the back of it instead of signing individual autographs.
The back of this card is where you can write your wish to share with the characters, who are wish makers!
Let’s take a look at the menu.
Menu
Dinner is $66 per adult and $41 per child. Here’s a partial listing of what’s on the buffet — there are things like baked salmon, curry-roasted chicken, roasted garlic sausage…
…mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, and green beans. There are also a variety of desserts!
You can get some specialty drinks for an additional charge. There are cocktails and hot beverages…
…as well as wine and beer. There are also a bunch of non-alcoholic options!
Let’s go take a look at the food!
Dinner Buffet
On the dinner buffet, you’ll find some bread options with butter as well as some cheeses…
…a salad bar, which has a bunch of fixings and various dressings…
…a station with Mediterranean kale salad, broccoli slaw, fresh fruit salad, loaded potato salad, and couscous salad…
…as well as some peel-n-eat shrimp!
There’s also a carving station, which was serving prime rib and porchetta tonight.
Cast Members told us that there will be prime rib here every night, and then the other meat rotates between ham (3 days a week), turkey (3 days a week), and porchetta (one day a week.
For sides, check out the mashed potatoes, hunter’s sauce, au jus, and house made steak sauce.
There’s also macaroni and cheese and roasted garlic sausage…
…glazed carrots, baked salmon, green beans…
…jasmine rice, Tiana’s gumbo, chicken noodle soup…
…Impossible merguez sausage and curry-roasted chicken.
For the kids or pickier eaters, there’s pasta, turkey meatballs, marinara sauce, buttered corn…
…as well as chicken nuggets and cheese and pepperoni pizza.
For desserts, you can get things like the Grand Floridian Financier, fudge brownie, lemon-blueberry cheesecake…
…warm chocolate cake with vanilla crème anglaise…
…vanilla cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, toasted coconut cake…
…and the iconic Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup!
Oh, and don’t forget about the gummy bears!
Now, let’s dig in.
Review
We started out with one of the specialty drinks that you can add on for an additional price. This is the Lavender Lemonade, which is Minute Maid Premium Lemonade with flavors of Lavender inspired by New Orleans’ influence on American cuisine for $6.29.
This was incredibly refreshing! The floral lavender goes perfectly with the tart lemonade. It’s super pretty and photogenic as well — this is a great non-alcoholic option!
Now for the food!
We started with Tiana’s Gumbo, which had a lot of great flavor including a decent amount of spice. There was a good amount of meat in it, too.
The curry roasted chicken was delicious! It was very saucy and the flavors are bold. The impossible sausage was tasty and had some good spice to it, but it was missing some flavor.
The garlic sausage was great and the macaroni and cheese was creamy and comforting.
Next, we tried the porchetta, which was very flavorful but a little bit dry — definitely get some sauce to go with it! We liked the prime rib better, it was very tasty. The mashed potatoes were creamy and a perfect execution of the classic side.
The vegetables weren’t anything remarkable, but the glazed carrots had a nice subtle sweetness to them. We thought the green beans could have had a bit more flavor and spice.
And the bread and butter were great, of course, you can’t really go wrong with those!
The salmon was good, but only because of the sauce and the tomatoes on top that added a good amount of flavor. Otherwise it would be just mediocre.
For dessert, we thought the vanilla cupcake and chocolate chip cookie were exactly what you’d expect — a standard vanilla cupcake and chocolate chip cookie. They’re plain but we know kids will probably enjoy them.
The warm chocolate cake was one of our favorite desserts we tried! It was super moist and warm in the center, basically like a mini version of a molten lava cake! The vanilla crème anglaise that you can put on top just makes this even better!
The lemon blueberry cheesecake was tasty, but it’s very tart from the lemon! The presentation is beautiful but you definitely have to like lemon to enjoy this.
The Grand Floridian Financier had some meringue on top which tasted like marshmallow topping. It also had a salted caramel topping and the cake itself was an almond cake. It was soft and flavorful!
The toasted coconut cake had a great flavor but the texture wasn’t great if you’re not a fan of coconut texture. The icing on top tasted like a whipped strawberry cream to us, which was nice.
Finally, we tried that iconic strawberry soup. It’s just absolutely delicious — so much so that we went back for seconds! It’s like melted strawberry ice cream in the very best way.
Overall, we liked or loved everything we tried tonight! This is a great character dining spot for dinner where you get to meet a decent array of characters and try a lot of different dishes.
