Why Trowel & Trellis Was a Bit Misleading at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival
Welcome to day one of the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival!
The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, the merch is selling…and the tastiest food is cooking! Right now, our reporters are exploring the World Showcase, where an array of colorful booths and kitchens have popped up, offering the tastiest, freshest foods for guests to try.
Our next stop on this tour is Trowel & Trellis, a returning favorite in every Flower & Garden Festival line-up.
Want to see what’s on the menu at this cute spot, and what our reporters made of the offerings? Well, keep reading, and let’s “dig” in!
Food
First on the menu is the IMPOSSIBLE Farmhouse Meatball, with lentil bread, spinach, marinated vegetables, and creamy herb aioli. It costs $6.

Completely plant-based, this menu item is sure to go down a hit among those following vegan diets, and we’re happy to share it’s also part of the Garden Graze Food Stroll experience, too.
Let’s take a closer look!
Ok, so first things first. We’re really glad to see more options when it comes to plant-based items on the festival menus.
However. This dish unfortunately wasn’t a favorite among our reporters!
Disappointingly, we found this meatball dish a little dry, and feel like more of the aioli sauce would have gone a long way. It didn’t taste bad, but the lack of flavor left the dish feeling a little stale on our palates. Maybe one to miss next time!
Next on the menu is a more meaty option, which is the Soy-Glazed Sticky Ribs, served with green onions and peanuts. This dish cost $7.
We’re pleased to share that our reporters enjoyed this dish much more than the meatball! They shared that the sticky soy sauce reminded them of a delicious dish you’d find in an Asian-fusion restaurant — certainly something we’d order again!
However, it’s the last menu item that has caught our attention the most! Want to see what it is?
New to the menu and sounding completely delicious, it’s the Chocolate Mousse Terrarium, a beautiful treat for a garden festival served with matcha crumble and chocolate soil. It costs $5.50.
Yum! Doesn’t it look adorable?
Happily, this was also a delicious offering here at Trowel & Trellis, and certainly one we’d recommend. The mousse was tasty, and the addition of cakey Matcha crumbles gave the dessert even more of a unique and flavorsome kick.
It’s very photogenic too — so we’re all happy over here!
Beverages
Tea is a classic here at Trowel & Trellis, and a returning blend is the Raspberry and Lemon Herbal Tea from Twinings. However, this year they’re adding a new spin on the drink — by making it alcoholic! So, if you’re looking for Twinings Raspberry and Lemon Herbal Tea, mixed with Simply Limeade and Conniption Kinship Gin, this would be the booth for you. It costs $4.50 without gin or $12 with the spike.
We tried the non-alcoholic version of the tea, which you can see is this adorable pink drink. We found it light and refreshing, almost so light that the flavor was just a whisper.
Definitely a good one to order on a hot festival day, and we’d imagine the addition of gin will go down well among guests too!
Also new to the beverage menu this year are two specialty sips: the Brew Hub Strawberry Heatwave Berliner, and the Surreal Brewing Co. Natural Bridges Kolsch Style Non-Alcoholic Beer.
We tried the “Nonalcoholic Surreal Brewing Co.” beverage, however we were slightly alarmed to find that the drink was, in fact, alcoholic.
Even a Cast Member told us so. How mad? Make sure you’re bearing this in mind if you’re placing an order during the festival!
In conclusion, Trowel & Trellis served us well this year, with the ribs certainly being our reporter’s favorite at this particular booth.
Will you be trying any of these items on your next festival visit?
