The TSA Extends Airport Mask Mandate Into April
We previously reported here at MickeyBlog that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had a mandate requiring guests to wear facemasks when flying. We can now report that the TSA announced today that they are extending this mandate on public transportation through April 18th.
According to a piece on NBC News, the CDC will continue to work with government agencies on a revised policy framework which will give a better idea of when mask rules can be lifted.
The current mandate was set to expire on March 18th before being extended by a month. This is the third time it has been extended.

You can see the official TSA guidelines here. TSA Administrator David Pekoske released a statement saying that the TSA is continuing to collaborate with industry and federal partners, ” “and now we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel as demonstrated by the rapid recovery of the travel industry.”
It should be noted that the mask mandate has stayed in place even after the CDC shifted their recommendations last month saying that most Americans would be safe without a mask in indoor settings.
At the moment it would seem that the TSA wants to err on the side of caution. This is a story that we will continue to follow closely and promise to keep you updated.
