Is The Honey Bee-stro Worth The Buzz at the Flower & Garden Festival?
Welcome, petals, to the very first day of the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival!
The sun is shining and MickeyBloggers are here in the park and reporting LIVE all day right here on the blog.
Right now, there’s a buzz in the air, and it can only mean one thing. Our reporters must be over by The Honey Bee-stro!
Hosted by the National Honey Board, this beautiful kitchen offers all kinds of treats, each infused with a sweet touch of honey.
There are lots of new and returning items on the menu here this year, including sweet and savory items. As you can see, the kiosk is a hive of activity, so let’s pay it a visit to see what’s on offer…
Food
There are just two menu items here at The Honey Bee-stro, but both sound so good, we’re buzzing to try them out!
First up is the Chicken and Waffles dish, which combines crispy chicken with a unique honey-sweet cornbread waffle, for $6.75. This is served with whipped honey butter and a drizzle of spicy honey. Delicious!
Our reporters actually tried this dish at the festival last year, and you can read our thoughts right here!
The second menu item is new for 2024, and it’s the Honey-Glazed Cauliflower, served with honey-roasted carrot puree, wild rice pilaf, spring vegetables, honey-blistered grapes, and sunflower brittle. It sounds like there’s a lot going on there, but we couldn’t wait to try it out!
Unfortunately, there really was quite a lot going on here. A bit too much, in fact!
The cauliflower was nice and crunchy, however, it had an unusual — rather, a bit off — taste that we couldn’t quite put our finger on. Sadly, we’d say this dish was a bit of a miss at The Honey Bee-stro this year! It cost $5.
Beverages
There’s one non-alcoholic option on the menu here, and that’s a Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze with Streusel.
If that didn’t sound summery enough, this drink is also available as an alcoholic option, spiked with Blueberry Vodka. Yum!
Our reporters tried the non-alcoholic version of this, and were thoroughly impressed!
It was like a delicious dessert freeze that we could have drank even more of. It’s one we’ll certainly be returning to in the future!
Then, new on the drinks menu at Honey Bee-stro this year is the Copperpoint Brewing Co. Bee’s Squeeze Blonde Ale, and there’s a returning Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine too. We love how all these beverage options sound fresh and honey-inspired, and can’t wait to try them all out on future visits!
