Oh, joy! Get ready to head back inside the mind. Pixar’s beloved film Inside Out (2015) is returning to the big screen with its highly anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2.
The film is set to premiere in theaters on June 14th, 2024. This is nearly 9 years after the release of the original film.
Directed by Kelsey Mann and written by Meg LeFauve, the sequel promises to be another emotional rollercoaster. It will explore the ever-evolving landscape of Riley’s inner world as she navigates the turbulent years of adolescence.
Inside Out
The first film took audiences on a journey through Riley’s five core emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. Now, a few years later, as Riley enters puberty new emotions are set to join the team including the often misunderstood Anxiety.
The Sequel
Inside Out 2 aims to delve deeper into the nuances of human emotions. The film’s tagline is, “Growing up can be emotional.”
This suggests a more mature exploration of themes like self-doubt, peer pressure, and finding personal identity, and Disney just shared some short new clips from the upcoming film.
