Ming-Na Wen Still Wants to Return to Star Wars Following ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Omission
Following the mixed reaction to The Book of Boba Fett, the titular bounty hunter and Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand were unceremoniously omitted from The Mandalorian Season 3.
Going into the third season of the hit Disney+ streaming series, even Temuera Morrison himself expected that Boba Fett and Fennec Shand would continue to appear in the series.
With an increased focus on Bo Katan and Din Djarin’s Mandalorian legacy, however, the duo of bounty hunters were nowhere to be found.
Ming-Na Wen Discusses Her Star Wars Future
In an exclusive interview with Screenrant, Ming-Na Wen explained that she harbored no hard feelings for her Mandalorian omission and would love to return to the Star Wars franchise anytime she got the call.
“I am always grateful for any gig that comes my way,” she replied optimistically, “and Star Wars [was] an ultimate dream come true for me. I’m hopeful, and I’m greedy for more. Any nuggets they give to me, I will put on Fennec’s outfit in a second. Anytime.”
The famed actress’s recent remarks echo her previous comments that her eagerness to play Fennec Shand has not dissipated.
When Could Fennec Shand Return
With The Mandalorian & Grogu set to hit the big screen, Ahsoka’s story continuing on Disney+, and Dave Filoni’s New Republic Era movie still in the works, Ming-Na Wen should have plenty of opportunities to reprise her role.
Finally, there is still a chance that we see a second season of The Book of Boba Fett. Morrison, for one, seems to be hinting at the continuation of the series’ story.
Hopefully, then, we will see Fennec Shand sooner rather than later.
