Temuera Morrison Is Getting Ready To Return To Star Wars
It may not be long before we see Temuera Morrison return to a galaxy, far, far away.
The actor first entered the world of Star Wars for 2002’s Attack of the Clones. In that film, he portrayed Jango Fett, a bounty hunter and prototype for the clone army.
Bringing Boba Fett Back TO Life
Nearly two decades later, Morrison returned to the franchise, this time to play Boba Fett, the clone “son” of Jango and a feared bounty hunter himself.
Morrison would assume the role of Boba Fett in the second season of The Mandalorian before getting his own spin-off show, The Book of Boba Fett.
While Boba Fett seemed to be going through something of a Renaissance, things quickly went wrong.
Pushed Aside
First, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau decided to insert Din Djarin, Ahsoka Tano, Luke Skywalker, and Grogu into large parts of The Book of Boba Fett. This did not sit well with Morrison, who publicly called out the decision.
“Well, that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book… I’m sure this guy is… ah… ruining my show. But I couldn’t say anything. I’m not the writer, so I have to bear it I guess,” Morrison said.
Along with taking public exception to the introduction of The Mandalorian’s characters into The Book of Boba Fett, Morrison also revealed that he was supposed to be in The Mandalorian’s third season.
“I was supposed to be in The Mandalorian Season 3 but nobody rang me. I was waiting for the phone call in New Zealand, waiting and wanting to give up.”
While Morrison was obviously disappointed in how his character was handled by Lucasfilm, it doesn’t sound as if the actor is ready to walk away from Star Wars.
Checking In On “The Galaxy”
At the London Film and Comic Con, Morrison told fans that he would check in with Star Wars brass on a trip to LA.
“There’s a few things happening in LA. I’m gonna stop by LA on my way home to New Zealand just to have a catch up and see what’s happening in the galaxy,” he said.
When asked if this meant there could be a potential second season of The Book of Boba Fett, the actor remained coy.
“This is why I was gonna pop up and see what’s going on, and make sure they’re not gonna put me on a shelf.”
When Will We See Morrison Again
In addition to The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett, another candidate for Morrison’s next Star Wars appearance could be Ahoksa.
Rumors have swirled that Morrison could bring Captain Rex, a veteran clone and close friend of Ahsoka, into live action.
No matter how he reappears, we likely have not seen Temuera Morrison’s last Star Wars adventure.
