Matthew Vaughn Says ‘Deadpool 3’ Will Save the MCU
Matthew Vaughn knows a thing or two about making a Marvel movie.
The X-Men: First Class director was one of the biggest players in the non-MCU world of Marvel, helping to bring a plethora of comic book heroes to the big screen.
While he may not be working on an MCU film, Vaughn remains a fan of the characters, especially the X-Men that he helped usher into a new cinematic era.
Vaughn Believes Deadpool 3 Will Save the MCU
In a recent appearance in BroBible’s Post-Credit podcast, Vaughn revealed that he has seen parts of Deadpool 3 and promised fans that the film will give the MCU the “jolt” that it needs.
“The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine. Or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable,” he said.
As the only Marvel Studios film set to hit theaters in 2024, Deadpool 3 will be tasked with carrying the franchise forward. According to Vaughn, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are up to the task.
“That’s going to be the jolt. The Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them, and it’s going to bring that body back to life. I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”
“A Genuine Fan”
While Vaughn isn’t directly involved in the production of ‘Deadpool 3,’ he has worked with Jackman on both X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. More than anything, however, he remains an X-Men fan.
“I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men. All I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be,” he added.
Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
