BREAKING: Disney’s Lawsuit Against Ron DeSantis Has Been Dismissed by Federal Judge
In case you missed it, Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have been embroiled in a legal battle over the former Reedy Creek Improvement District, now named Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.
As of today, we finally have an answer regarding Disney’s federal lawsuit against DeSantis.
Lawsuit Dismissed
It’s official — Disney’s lawsuit against Ron DeSantis has been dismissed. According to Bloomberg, US District Judge Allen Winsor granted DeSantis’s motion to dismiss Disney’s lawsuit on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
The dismissed lawsuit specifically pertained to The Walt Disney Company’s accusation that DeSantis “politically retaliated” against the company after Disney’s response to the controversial Florida bill colloquially known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
This is a huge setback for Disney but theoretically may not affect Disney’s other pending state lawsuit against DeSantis allies.
