Update: Construction Continues on Flex Space in EPCOT
Over the past few years, Disney fans have waited patiently (or perhaps not-so-patiently) for construction walls to come down in EPCOT. While work has wound down in several areas, construction continues on the flex space next to the Imagination! pavilion.
This week, our team stopped by for a closer look at the mystery construction. Let’s check it out!
Flex Space Construction
This past summer, construction began on the flex space next to EPCOT’s Imagination! Pavilion. Crews made significant progress last month, and we watched as light fixtures, paving, and fencing were installed throughout the area.
As January draws to a close, progress continues on the mystery space.
On a recent visit to EPCOT, MickeyBlog reporters noted that the ground had been dug up and that pipes are currently being laid.
Without an official announcement from Disney, the scope of the project is still unknown. The space has previously been used as both a play space and for food kiosks during EPCOT’s various festivals.
Progress Continues in EPCOT
The construction in EPCOT might seem never-ending, but several projects have come to a close in recent months, bringing fans a variety of fresh new experiences (and a smaller number of construction walls).
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana debuted this past fall. The lush, interactive exploration trail invites guests to play with water and learn about the water cycle.
Then, in December 2023, Dreamers Point and the World Celebration Gardens officially opened, giving eager guests a glimpse at the much-anticipated ‘Walt the Dreamer‘ statue.
So while there are still plenty of construction walls to be found in EPCOT (especially around CommuniCore Hall!), it’s only a matter of time until the walls come down and guests are greeted with fresh and exciting new attractions.
