Journey Into Imagination With Figment Will Close For Refurbishment Soon

Let’s be honest, the Imagination! pavilion at EPCOT has seen better days.

Once upon a time, the pavilion was brimming with creativity and wonder as Dreamfinder and Figment taught guests how to explore their imagination.

Visitors to the pavilion could then explore the hands-on exhibits of the ImageWorks, where they could let their imagination run wild.

A Sad State of Affairs

These days, the Imagination! pavilion is a muted affair. Journey into Your Imagination With Figment doesn’t have the same charm that the original iteration of the attraction had, and ImageWorks is now a shell of its former self.

With that being said, there is still something uniquely EPCOT about both the pavilion and the attraction. The iconic pavilion’s shape, combined with the fact that Figment remains the park’s mascot, makes the Imagination! pavilion feels like the heart of EPCOT.

Journey Into Imagination Will Close on October 10

Well, if you plan on visiting Figment on October 10, be forewarned. Journey Into Imagination will be closed that day in order to facilitate routine maintenance.

According to Disney the other areas of the Imagination! pavilion will remain open, meaning that guests can go watch Pixar shorts in the Magic Eye Theater or visit the gift shop and ImageWorks.

Luckily, Journey into Imagination with Figment will reopen just one day later on October 11.

While it is unlikely that anything of note will be improved or added during the refurbishment, it is good to see Disney giving the attraction a little TLC. Hopefully, bigger improvements are on the horizon for both the pavilion and the attraction.
