Bathroom Construction Updates in EPCOT’s World Showcase
Greetings, all, from EPCOT! We’re over at the World Showcase right now, where a spot of construction is still pressing on over in some all-important guest restrooms.
Let’s go see what’s happening…
United Kingdom Pavilion
Specifically, our reporters are here in the UK pavilion of the World Showcase, where we can see the bathrooms are still blocked off to guests amidst their recent refurbishment.
To sum this up in Brit speak:
“ay up, loos are shut”
So, what’s occurring?
Well, as you can see from our photos, these closed bathrooms have been surrounded by those trusty temporary wheeled hedges, that we’re all too familiar with seeing crop up across any Walt Disney World construction.
Peering above these hedges, we can see that the former bathroom signage has been covered by black sheets.
It’s almost as if to make 100% sure desperate guests aren’t going to battle bravely through the bushes a-la Prince Philip in Sleeping Beauty.
However, can you see that new crest just above the covers?
Yep, this here is a new plaque, and quite a pun-tastic one at that.
As we can see, the golden sign reads “Waterloo WC.”
If any readers are wondering why they’re referencing an iconic ABBA song over here in the UK pavilion, know that Waterloo is a district in London, the site of a famous battle, and a fun play on the word “loo” (British for “toilet”)!
Anyway, back to business. As this restroom is closed, temporary A-frame signage has appeared to re-direct guests over to the next closest location.
This can be found over in the World Showplace pavilion building, near the Joffrey’s kiosk in the Canada pavilion. It’s not a far walk, so World Showcase-exploring guests in need of the bathroom need not worry!
If you are planning a World Showcase expedition, make sure to familiarize yourselves with the nearest locations by checking the park map, the My Disney Experience app, or of course asking a friendly Cast Member.
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the construction over here in the UK pavilion, and hope to see this site opening once more very soon!
