Location
Today, we’re stopping by the Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! It’s a super cute outdoor restaurant located next to the main pool–making it a great option for a drink at the bar, a quick app, or a sit-down dining experience.
The ambiance is fun and casual, with decor that fits the resort hotel’s Caribbean beach aesthetic!
Banana Cabana is located near Sebastian’s Bistro, so this spot also serves as a great place to grab a drink before your meal next door!
Review
We’ve worked up quite the appetite checking out the location, so let’s dig into some food (and drinks)! The menu is packed with great options–cocktails, wines, non-alcoholic drinks…
…appetizers, entrees, and kids’ meals!
We started off with two drinks–the Banana Cabana (alcoholic) and Bubbles of the Sea (non-alcoholic).
The Banana Cabana has Cruzan Mango Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Bols Crème de Banana, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice with a float of Grenadine. Their signature drink was $16 and came with a pineapple garnish. It’s very fruity, with coconut and pineapple being the heavy hitters, and a subtle hint of banana on the back end.
Surprisingly, despite all of the liqueur thrown into this thing, the drink only has a mild alcohol flavor. So, as long as you’re a fan of fruity drinks, this is a great option!
The Bubbles of the Sea is a fun drink, with Gold Peak® Sweet Green Tea, Lemon Juice, Pineapple, and Guava, topped with Boba Pearls and a splash of Shimmer! The drink is primarily green tea, but the pineapple and guava juices provide a nice touch of sweetness. (We also enjoyed the boba “bubbles”–so cute!)
Beware: the drink comes without a boba straw, so you have to fish them out. Regardless, for $6.99, it’s a great, refreshing option that we recommend!
To start our meal, we got the Caribbean Chips & Dip with Caribbean-spiced Chili, Pimento Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Peppers, and Crispy Tortillas. The app is $12, and while the dip didn’t have a strong Caribbean seasoning flavor, it was still very hearty and filling! The layer underneath the cheese is chili and beans with seasoning.
It’s basically just chips and queso chili dip–but we’re not complaining!
Next up was the Coconut Shrimp for $16. The entree comes with six (6) coconut-crusted fried shrimp, a citrus-chili dipping sauce, and french fries. The shrimp was great–served with the tail on, but the crust provided the perfect amount of crisp and flakiness.
The coconut flavor contrasted nicely with the citrus-chili dipping sauce, which added a touch of heat. The fries are your standard Disney fries–not terrible, but also nothing to write home about.
Overall Thoughts
We really enjoyed this casual restaurant! It’s a great option if you’re having a pool day and need to refuel and/or rehydrate. The drinks are fun and fruity, the food is filling, and the vibes are perfect for the location! If you’re in the area, be sure to give Banana Cabana a try!
