As Massive Resort Complex Is Going to be Built by Disney Springs
AIC Hotel Group, which is associated with various hotel brands, including several Hard Rock Hotels, has filed preliminary plans in Orange County to build a large resort east of Disney Springs.
The group purchased 50 acres of vacant property north of the Orlando Marriott World Center Resort in 2018 for $32.75 million. Subsequently, Nobu Hotels, which is associated with AIC, announced plans for an Orlando resort. The target opening date of the new property is 2026.
The newly-filed conceptual master plan calls for four hotels to be constructed with a combined 1,934 rooms. In addition, the new complex will include 16 restaurants with a capacity of 1,625 guests. Finally, the plan designates 270 apartments designated as Club Membership Units and a 26,000-square-foot spa.
A Nabu Hotel Will Be Part of the Complex
While the master plan does not indicate how the Nabu project will integrate into the larger company, that hotel’s website says that the Orlando resort will be comprised of 300 rooms, including eight villas. The Nabu plan also calls for a restaurant, 50 branded residencies, and a meeting and event space.
The new property in question is accessible from Meadow Creek Drie and has north frontage on Interstate 4. It is also located between the World Marriott Resort’s golf course and Starwood’s Visana Resort.
The property was formally owned by Great Wolf Resorts, which is primarily known for its large indoor water parks.
A Dining, Retail, and Entertainment Village
When completed, the new complex is expected to include multiple pools, waterslides, and a lazy river. Outside of the planned hotels, there is expected to be a dining, retail, and entertainment village in the center of the resort.
In total, the plan calls for 100,000 square feet of food and beverage space, 35,000 square feet of retail space, and 73,225 square feet for events.
As Central Florida’s tourism industry continues to thrive following the COVID-19 pandemic, new construction seems to be popping up every day.
Soon, visitors to the area will have another resort to vacation at.
