Disney’s ‘Wish’ Gets Digital, 4K and Blu-Ray Release Date
In many ways, the Disney100 celebration culminated last fall with the release of Disney’s Wish.
The film introduced audiences to the Kingdom of Rosas, where they met an optimistic young girl named Asha who sensed a darkness around the kingdom’s ruler, King Magnifico.
In Rosas, citizens’ wishes are granted by the seemingly benevolent ruler. As it turns out, however, he may not be as magnanimous as he seems.
In her moment of desperation, Ahsa makes a fervent wish to the stars. Her plea is answered when a celestial body named Star comes crashing down to Earth.
While Wish was supposed to be the crowning achievement of 100 years of Disney storytelling, the film struggled mightily at the box office.
‘Wish’ Finally Gets a Digital and Physical Media Release Date
For Disney fans who didn’t get a chance to see the film in theaters, or perhaps those who can’t wait to watch it again, Disney has finally announced when Wish will become Dikicoming to digital, 4k, and Blu-ray.
Like recent Disney films, Wish will have a window where it is available to purchase or rent exclusively on digital platforms.
The film will be released digitally on January 23, followed by its 4k and Blu-ray release on March 12. At this time, there is no word about when Wish will land on Disney+.
Bonus Features Galore
When you purchase the film on digital or physical media, you will not only bring home the latest Disney animated classic but also a string of bonus features.
Among the bonus material included with Wish’s home release are a sing-along version of the film, a 100 Years in the Making documentary, three featurette’s including Once Upon a Studio and WISH D-Classified, deleted scenes, outtakes and a featurette on the deleted song “A WIsh Worth Making.”
