Women of Disney World’s Ambassador Program
Walt Disney World is celebrating Women’s History Month; therefore, let’s meet the women of Walt Disney World’s Ambassador program!
Incredible Women
Many women serve as mentors and role models throughout The Walt Disney Company. Accordingly, let’s tribute to five women who served as former Walt Disney World Ambassadors. These women are Melissa Valiquette (current Vice President of Magic Kingdom), Marjorie Colas, Jen Mason, Vanessa Rosas, and Rebecca Godsil.
Indeed, all five of these impressive women had the opportunity to share their favorite Ambassador moments, stories from their terms, and advice for others wishing to advance their Disney careers, as well as the Ambassador role. All of this took place in front of 100 Disney Programs participants at Flamingo Crossings Village.
Inspiration
Of course, it’s amazing to hear the panelists speak on their magical Disney moments. Vanessa Rosas said, “The Ambassador role is a role of service. The opportunity to bring Disney magic to our local communities is some of my most cherished memories from my Ambassador term.” Vanessa was a Walt Disney World Ambassador from 2009-2010.
So, Walt Disney World Ambassadors all come from different backgrounds and roles within The Walt Disney Company. For example, Rebecca Godsil started her career at Disneyland before working at Walt Disney World and becoming an Ambassador there in 2005. Rebecca stated, “Returning to Disneyland and visiting the Walt Disney Studios lot as a Walt Disney World Ambassador during Global Ambassador Training was a ‘pinch me’ moment for sure.”
Leaving a Legacy
Jen Mason advised aspiring Ambassadors with the following, “Just go for it. I told myself that by applying for the role, I had already accomplished something great.” Truly, it is an honor to become a Disney Ambassador. Indeed, these women leave a lasting impact on every female Ambassador who comes after them.
