Lunar New Year Starts Soon in Disneyland — Here’s What You Need to Know
The holiday season is wrapping up in Disneyland, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t festivities to look forward to at the resort! In fact, Disney has actually shared a full calendar events for 2024.

And now, we know more about a special celebration coming soon to Disney California Adventure Park!
Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure
The Lunar New Year celebration is returning to DCA starting January 23rd through February 18th! This is a multicultural celebration “filled with auspicious wishes for health, luck and prosperity throughout the new year” according to Disney.
This festival takes place almost every year, and this year, a bunch of fun celebrations are returning for the event. First up, the Lunar New Year Marketplaces will be back!
These will have food items inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean cuisine. The menus haven’t been released yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as they do!

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession is also returning. This is a procession that moves from Hollywood Land to Pixar Pier and features Mulan, Mushu, and more!

Another thing returning to the festival is “Hurry Home — A Lunar New Year Celebration,” which will take place before World of Color — ONE at night in the park. The show tells the story of a “little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune” while also paying tribute to Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.

Disney characters will be out and about in the park for the celebration. There will be special appearances from some of our Disney pals (like Mickey & Minnie) and they’ll be dressed in their Lunar New Year-inspired outfits!
The Wishes Wall is also returning to Disney California Adventure! This is located in Paradise Gardens, where you can check out the strings of ornamental lanterns and make a wish for the new year.
Some other things to look forward to during the Lunar New Year celebration are commemorative merchandise, kid-friendly crafts and activities, and festive décor. We can’t wait to check it out for ourselves!
