NEWS: Disneyland Reveals Event Lineup for 2024
Disney loves to keep us guessing a lot of the time. When they announce events or attractions coming to the parks, they like to keep the timelines pretty vague until it gets closer, then they reveal specific dates.
But, Disney is breaking that pattern right now. For the very first time, dates and details are being shared for everything happening at Disneyland Resort in 2024!
2024 Disneyland Events
Here’s a brief overview of the calendar before we break down the details:
- Disneyland After Dark: Select nights from January through June
- Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park: January 23rd — February 18th
- Pixar Place Hotel Opens: January 30th
- Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland Park: February 17th & 24th
- Anaheim Ducks Days at Disney California Adventure Park: February 22nd & 23rd
- Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival: March 1st — April 22nd
- Season of the Force at Disneyland Park: April 5th — June 2nd
- Pixar Fest Returning: April 26th — August 4th
- Fantasmic! Returns to Disneyland Park: May 24th
- Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort: August 23rd — October 31st
- Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party: Returning in 2024
- Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park: August 23rd — November 2nd
- Holidays at the Disneyland Resort: Begins November 15th
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opens: Late 2024
Okay, let’s talk more about what’s happening!
Disney Festivals & Limited Time Celebrations
Pixar Fest
This is the exciting news, everyone — Pixar Fest is returning to Disneyland from April 26th through August 4th of next year! There will be colorful decor, themed food items, and special merchandise.
You will be able to see the Pixar twist in the theme parks, Disneyland hotels, and in the Downtown Disney District. There will also be a brand new daytime parade called Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! at Disney California Adventure park.
In Disneyland park, Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular is returning with some new scenes!
You will be able to meet new characters at the celebration as well, like Ember and Wade from Elemental, Red Panda Mei from Turning Red, and more.
Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park is returning from January 23rd — February 18th! This is a festival dedicated to Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions as the celebration rings in the Year of the Dragon.
There will be Asian-inspired food offerings, fun decor, and even Mushu in Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession!
Celebrate Gospel
Over at Disneyland Park, Celebrate Gospel will be performing at the Fantasyland Theatre on February 17th & 24th. The concerts will be headlines by Marvin Sapp on the 17th and Tasha Cobbs Leonard on the 24th.
This is an annual tribute to Gospel music that combines award wining musicians and community choirs from across Southern California.
Anaheim Ducks Days
The Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club is celebrating their 30th anniversary next year, so Disneyland is celebrating too! Anaheim Duck Days will be a two-day event (happening on February 22nd & 23rd) in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park.
There will be a celebratory cavalcade, a fan zone with photo ops and themed activities, and appearances by past and present members of the team.
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
The Food & Wine Festival is returning to DCA from March 1st — April 22nd! There will be a bunch of creative foods and beverages, cooking demonstrations, and entertainment inspired by the cultures and cuisines of California.
Soarin’ Over California will also be returning for a limited time during the festival!
Season of the Force
The Star Wars Season of the Force will be happening at Disneyland Park from April 5th — June 2nd. Hyperspace Mountain will return and there will also be themed food and drinks, merchandise, and more.
Also debuting during the celebration are some new adventures on Star Tours — The Adventures Continue. And, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will have a new spot to look at the fireworks that happen at Disneyland with galactic music being played through the land!
Halloween Time
The spooky season kicks off at Disneyland Resort on August 23rd and will run until October 31st! There will be fall decor, characters in their Halloween outfits, themed attractions, and more.
Plaza de la Familia
From August 23rd — November 2nd, you can check out the Mexican traditions of Día de los Muertos at Disney California Adventure! There will also be storytelling and music from Pixar’s Coco.
The Holidays
The holiday season will kick off on November 15th at Disneyland Resort! Disney Festival of the Holidays will be back at DCA, seasonal overlays will take over some attractions…
…wintry decor will be throughout the resort, and some holiday spectaculars will return.
Separately Ticketed After-Hours Events
Disneyland After Dark
Disneyland After Dark will take place on select nights from January through June of next year. There will be four themed event nights complete with unique entertainment, rare character sightings, and special foods to try.
Disney says details about the themes will be shared very soon, so we’ll keep you updated!
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash will be returning over at Disney California Adventure! Get ready for treat trails, rare character sightings, and unique entertainment.
No dates have been announced, but this will take place during the Halloween season.
More Disney Dates to Know About
Now, we have a few more important Disneyland dates you should know about for next year! First up, the reimagined Pixar Place Hotel will be opening on January 30th (check out more right here).
Fantasmic! will be returning to the Rivers of America in Disneyland park on May 24th! There will be a new battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent, the return of the iconic Peter Pan scene, and more.
We’ve talked about it a lot, but Splash Mountain’s transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be completed some time in late 2024. You can read more about The Princess and the Frog attraction right here.
Finally, know that the work being done on the Downtown Disney District will continue to take shape in 2024. We will see the openings of Paseo and Céntrico (with Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán), and Din Tai Fung (an iconic Chinese restaurant known for soup dumplings and noodles).
