Like anywhere else, strange things can happen at Disney World, like a bear in Magic Kingdom, and today we experienced a fire alarm at a Disney World hotel!
Disney’s Contemporary Resort Evacuation
During a visit to Contemporary Resort this morning, the fire alarm went off, prompting a full evacuation.

If this happens to you, it’s important to stay calm and follow the directions of Cast Members.

We were directed down the stairs next to the Bay Lake Tower bridge.
Note that the Monorail also stopped running through the Contemporary during the evacuation.

We weren’t sure what to expect, and everyone gathered outside.

Within about 15 minutes, we were allowed to go back inside the hotel, so it must have been a false alarm!

So overall, it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, and most importantly, everyone followed Cast Member directions.
Returning inside
We consider this a good reminder that inconveniences will happen during your Disney World trip — and most importantly, don’t let a minor inconvenience ruin your day at Disney World!
