Constructions Projects Progress at EPCOT!
As major construction projects progress at EPCOT, MickeyBlog is there to bring you another update.
Although it seems like Disney is always making improvements throughout the parks, the major EPCOT redesign has been going on for a while.
Check out where things stand now…
World Celebration
It looks like the significant changes taking place at EPCOT are nearing an end.
The long-term project adds three new “worlds” to the long-standing World Showcase: World Discovery, World Nature, and World Celebration.
Already, this massive undertaking released new favorites like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water inspired by Moana.
Imagineers continue to work toward the finish line as they near the completion of World Celebration. Though construction walls remain in place, we’re able to catch a glimpse of the current status.
We already see many trees in place, though they are currently surrounded by dirt. We look forward to seeing this area landscaped with grass and other plant life.
A new fountain will be right behind Spaceship Earth. In addition to the fountain, new lights are being installed.
Before this project, lights, music, and the fountain combined forces to give guests a beautiful show. We can’t wait to see what this new fountain will do!
We noticed some new construction walls in place this morning, which we didn’t expect. These walls surround Communicore Hall.
Communicore Hall will serve as a hub for many events, including the EPCOT Festivals that take place throughout the year.
While World Celebration is slated to open in December of 2023, these new construction walls may indicate that Communicore Hall won’t be opening with it.
We will wait and see if Communicore Hall opens with the Festival of the Arts in January!
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
While the major redesign continues, smaller refurbishment projects haven’t been forgotten.
Lately, we’ve seen many aesthetic updates to the exterior of The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Today, we noticed this new sign.
This sign is flat, as opposed to the previous dimensional sign. We will have to wait and see if this sign is permanent or a temporary replacement while the other is refurbished.
