Columbia Harbour House Adds More Scrim and Scaffolding in Magic Kingdom
Construction continues in Magic Kingdom as Columbia Harbour House undergoes refurbishment.
Back in September, the popular quick-service restaurant began an exterior facade refurbishment, beginning on the Fantasyland side of the building. More construction walls were added in October and the restaurant has since been obscured by scrim and scaffolding.
Ongoing Refurbishment at Columbia Harbour House
Today, our team spotted additional scrim and black scaffolding wrap extending along the Liberty Square portion of the building. We stopped by to get a closer look.
Most of the building is hidden from view, and it’s hard to tell what changes to expect at the popular restaurant. We anticipate subtle updates and touch-ups to the facade.
At this point, there’s not much to see.
Apart from this tunnel-like exit, the refurbishment has had little impact on the restaurant itself. While the building is concealed from view, Columbia Harbour House is still open and operational.
A Magic Kingdom Staple
Columbia Harbour House is a longstanding favorite among Walt Disney World guests. With its American colonial architecture and traditional New England-style fare, the restaurant fits seamlessly into Liberty Square.
Here you’ll find a variety of American seafood dishes, including fan favorites like the Sea Captain’s Fish Sandwich, the New England Shrimp Boil, and of course, this incredible Lobster Roll.
It’s no wonder Columbia Harbour House consistently ranks among the best food in Magic Kingdom!
The interior of the restaurant is unaffected by the construction, so place a mobile order through your My Disney Experience app or drop in for a bite. The cozy and inviting dining room is the perfect place to relax and recharge while you escape the crowds.
Columbia Harbour House is open daily from 11AM to 9PM. And during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the establishment serves up complimentary hot chocolate and holiday cookies!
