Mobile Order at Quick-Service Locations
Mobile ordering has been an option through the My Disney Experience app for five years. When it was first introduced, it was only available at select locations.
At the height of the pandemic, the Mobile Order function became the norm at quick-service dining locations throughout the parks and resorts. It prevented long lines of people crowded together and gathering in dining areas.
Many guests got used to the convenience of this process. Disney is making updates to make it even easier on guests!
Today, we saw a shift from 30-minute return windows to 15-minute return windows. This gives guests more precise timeframes to choose from!
How it works
Guests dining at quick-service locations can browse the menu and create their orders ahead of time. When creating an order, they pre-select their return window.
Once it’s time for their return window, guests should head toward their quick-service dining spot. Upon arrival, guests will press a button in the app, and Cast Members will begin preparing their food.
When using Mobile Order, guests can only request that their orders be prepared within a certain proximity to the restaurant. The app will send a push notification when the order is ready for pickup.
My Disney Experience
Over the years, the My Disney Experience app has become an incredibly useful resource for guests at Disney World!
In addition to Mobile Order, guests can now utilize Mobile Checkout at select merchandise locations.
Also available in the app, Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services help guests manage their theme park visits.
Disney Genie is a free service available in the app. It allows guests to set preferences within the app for what they’d like to experience.
Once preferences are set, Disney Genie offers suggestions that are based on the guest’s preferences, factoring in real-time wait times, dining plans, and more.
Similar to the former Fastpass+ system, Disney Genie+ allows guests to book Lightning Lanes at select attractions throughout the day. Disney Genie+ is a paid service.
