The World of Frozen Opens Its Gates For a Grand Opening Celebration
For the first time in…well ever, the World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland welcomed guests inside the gates today.
Just four days before the land opens to the public, royal guests got a chance to visit Arendelle and celebrate the debut of the world’s first Frozen-themed land!

The World of Frozen will not only be home to two new attractions, Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, but also dining, shopping, and a first-of-its-kind theatrical experience with Anna and Elsa.

World of Frozen Opens Its Gates
While The World of Frozen has previously opened for Cast Member previews, today was the land’s “big celebration blowout.” There were fireworks, drones, and a surprise visit by Anna and Elsa.

The festivities took place in the center of Arendelle, where Oaken and Kristoff kicked off the evening alongside the Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassadors.
Celebrating the occasion with the citizens of Arendelle were Disney CEO Bob Iger, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’amaro, Michael Moriarty, the Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland, Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, and Jennifer Lee CCO of Walt Disney Animation Studios and the writer/director of Frozen and Frozen 2!

“The Frozen franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company. It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100,” Bob Iger said.
A Magical Finale
The evening ended with Elsa summoning Olaf and Anna proclaiming the gates of Arendelle officially open.

Then, magic filled the sky as a fleet of drones performed intricate patterns mirroring Elsa’s ice magic.
“Our Imagineers worked with Jenn’s team at Disney Animation to ensure every detail is just right. World of Frozen transports you to another world, where you can have fun with your loved ones and make some incredible memories together,” D’Amaro explained.
