Laguna Beach Home of Disney Legend Marty Sklar Hits The Market
The Laguna Beach home of Disney Legend Marty Sklar has hit the market with an asking price of $10.75 million.
A Legendary Career
Sklar began his Disney career working at Disneyland before joining WED Enterprises (the forebearer of Walt Disney Imagineering), eventually becoming Walt’s dedicated speech writer.
Following Walt’s death, Sklar would climb the Imagineering ranks, eventually becoming the president and vice chairman of the organization from 1987 until 1996. After 53 years with the company, Marty finally retired from Disney on July 17, 2009. He passed away on July 27, 2017.
“He embodied the very best of Disney, from his bold originality to his joyful optimism and relentless drive for excellence,” Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said on the official Disney Parks Blog at the time of Sklar’s death.
Beachfront Property
According to records, Sklar purchased the beachfront property in January 1990 for $1.125 million. It is still owned by his family.
Spanning 2,069 square feet, the coastal bluff-top home has an all-white contemporary-style interior. It includes three bedrooms and bathrooms and even an elevator.
The upstairs of the home also features an ocean-facing balcony.
The entry level of the home features ocean views through large windows which open to a flagstone patio. It also boasts a built-in barbecue kitchen and dining area, and farther down the path is a built-in fire pit area. There is also a staircase that leads to the shore.
The listing was shared by Marcus Skenderian and Luke Sydnor of Coldwell Banker Reality.
