Good morning MickeyBlog friends! Christmas and the holidays have arrived at Walt Disney World!
And one more exciting offering is getting us hyped for the festive season: the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!
Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Construction
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is home to an amazing gingerbread house nestled in the hotel lobby, and MickeyBlog has been following the progress!
The team is working hard at erecting the fan-fave house and each day we are closer to the finished product!
And now we have the news updates from overnight construction.
Here is a great view of the gingerbread house! The area is still roped off as workers continue construction.
The team is working on exterior details as guests look on.
Did you know the house is made with real ginger?
You can see the team at Grand Floridian is working hard and adding in those amazing Disney holiday details.
It takes over 160 hours to construct and decorate the impressive house.
We can see even more details on the exterior and the roof today.
It looks amazing and of course, tasty!
The 14-foot tall gingerbread house is made with 1,050 pounds of honey, 800 pounds of flour, 600 pounds of chocolate.
And is home to plenty of Hidden Mickeys!
In addition to the Hidden Mickeys, there are various Disney characters on and around the gingerbread house, though we haven’t spotted them yet!
And, of course, Santa!
We can’t wait to see the completed Gingerbread House!
