ESPN BET Will Officially Launch This November
The Worldwide Leader in Sports will look to dominate the sports gambling sphere when ESPN BET officially launches on November 14.
The newly-branded online sportsbook will go live in 17 states, including Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The creation of ESPN BET is the result of a partnership between the flagship sports network and PENN Entertainment. The new sports betting app will replace PENN’s previous sportsbook endeavor, the Barstool Sportsbook.
“Our primary focus is always to serve sports fans and we know they want both betting content and the ability to place bets with less friction from within our products,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, of ESPN. “The strategy here is simple: to give fans what they’ve been requesting and expecting from ESPN. PENN Entertainment is the perfect partner to build an unmatched user experience for sports betting with ESPN BET.”
ESPN Will Use ESPN BET Odds Across All Content
As part of the launch, ESPN is now using odds provided by ESPN BET across all of its content. Additionally, ESPN’s flagship sports gambling show, Daily Wager, will be rebranded ESPN BET Live.
The launch of ESPN BET is a big gamble for both the Worldwide Leader in Sports and PENN Entertainment.
For ESPN, it signals the network’s embrace of a sports betting sphere that it has previously tried to keep at bay.
PENN meanwhile is hoping that its $2 billion investment will help the company capture a market share in sports gambling that has previously eluded it.
