Walt Disney World Wait Times for End of October 2023
Welcome to my favorite week of the year at Walt Disney World!
I wasn’t able to go this year since I’ve been on the disabled list for a while, but I am soooo envious of those of you who are.
We start the week with Halloween events. Then, by the end of the week, the Christmas decorations arrive at the parks and resorts.
Even by Disney standards, this week is probably the most magical of the year. And we expect the crowds to swell accordingly.
We’ve got one week to discuss before then, though. Here are Walt Disney World’s average wait times for the last full week of October 2023.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Remarkably, holiday decorations have already appeared at Animal Kingdom!
Our excellent reporters captured several pictures of what’s already on display. And we learned what’s coming soon as well.
I’m getting ahead of myself, though. For now, all we care about is how the crowds looked last week.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s average wait times:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 69 minutes, down 18
- Na’vi River Journey – 59 minutes, down 12
- Adventurers Outpost – 50 minutes, up 2
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 35 minutes, down 16
- Expedition Everest – 25 minutes, down 10
- Kali River Rapids – 20 minutes, down 1
- DINOSAUR – 17 minutes, down 11
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 10 minutes, no change
- TriceraTop Spin – 9 minutes, down 5
Obviously, this park’s attendance decreased significantly week-over-week. That matches with some of our daily reports.
Overall, guests at Animal Kingdom stood in line for an average of 33 minutes, which is eight minutes (!) less than last time.
That’s a significant drop at this park. Will the trend hold across Walt Disney World? Let’s find out.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In the previous wait times article, seven different Hollywood Studios attractions averaged waits of 67 minutes or longer. That’s…a lot.
Since Disney finished plussing Hollywood Studios during the latest expansion, the range of attractions with hourlong waits has been between four and seven.
How many reached that mark last week? Let’s find out.
Here are the average waits at Hollywood Studios:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 93 minutes, down 22
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – 70 minutes, down 16
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 66 minutes, down 29
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers – 59 minutes, down 13
- Toy Story Mania! – 59 minutes, down 21
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 58 minutes, down 11
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 53 minutes, down 14
- Red Carpet Dreams – 40 minutes, down 4
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 37 minutes, down 5
- Celebrity Spotlight – 18 minutes, down 6
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 15 minutes, down 1
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue! – 12 minutes, down 9
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
So, that looks like fantastic news. Only three attractions technically required 60+ minute waits. Even if we round up from 55, it’s still just six.
Those numbers appear much more reasonable than the previous week, as indicated by the fact that guests waited for an average of 41 minutes per attraction.
That’s a ten-minute drop from the previous week and a hint that the crowds did decrease during the fourth week of October.
EPCOT
Here’s the park that has so much going on lately.
While the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company has technically come and gone, Disney100 continues at EPCOT.
The centennial event will last through the end of the year, and it’s definitely worth your time.
Even better, EPCOT still has a few surprises yet to come. For example, World Celebration will debut in December.
Until then, I expect the park to maintain its current traffic levels and probably increase as the Candlelight Processional arrives.
Here are EPCOT’s average wait times for last week:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 74 minutes, down 14
- Frozen Ever After – 70 minutes, down 12
- Test Track – 62 minutes, down 9
- Soarin’ Over California – 42 minutes, down 20
- Royal Sommerhus – 33 minutes, down 4
- Mission: SPACE – 24 minutes, up 1
- Journey into Imagination – 19 minutes, down 2
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 18 minutes, down 5
- Spaceship Earth – 18 minutes, down 7
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 18 minutes, down 3
- Living with the Land – 14 minutes, down 2
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 12 minutes, down 3
Overall, EPCOT guests waited for an average of 32 minutes, which is 11 minutes less than last time.
We’ve got one park left to check, but it’s pretty evident that Walt Disney World crowds diminished last week.
Magic Kingdom
I think we know the deal, but here are Magic Kingdom’s average wait times for last week:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 76 minutes, down 9
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 71 minutes, down 5
- Haunted Mansion – 51 minutes, down 3
- Jungle Cruise – 51 minutes, down 7
- Space Mountain – 48 minutes, down 11

- Town Square Theater – 41 minutes, down 2
- Ariel’s Grotto – 40 minutes, down 3

- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – 14 minutes, down 2
- Walt Disney World Railroad – 13 minutes, down 8
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts
You’ll notice after a cursory scan that virtually all Walt Disney World attractions required shorter waits last week.
Not coincidentally, the average wait at Magic Kingdom dropped to 28 minutes, which is seven minutes or 20 percent less than last time.
So, you would have loved spending time at the parks last week. Then again, you’ll love it even more if you’re there this week.
I wish I were joining you, as it’s legitimately my favorite time of the year. Have a magical time, my many loves!
