Tale of the Lion King is an original adaptation of The Lion King, featuring a traveling troupe known as “The Storytellers of the Pride Lands.” The storytellers take audiences through a retelling of Simba’s journey from lion cub to king of the Pride Lands, through music, dance, dialogue, and percussion.
Tale of the Lion King originally premiered in Disney California Adventure on the Palisades Stage in 2019, but it was subsequently expanded with new scenes, music, choreography, costumes, and more, before premiering at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park in May 2022.
According to Disneyland’s website, Tale of the Lion King currently has showtimes on select dates, with no performances on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
If you’re visiting Disneyland before January 7th and hoping to catch the show before it closes, we strongly recommend checking Disney’s calendar before you get there.
