Disney Cruise Line Update: Disney Dream Sailing Friday, Disney Fantasy Saturday
As I was checking for updates on Disney Cruise Line, I found this VERY recent update, posted September 5, 2019 – 6:45 p.m.
Disney Dream on Friday, September 6
& Disney Fantasy on Saturday, September 7
The Disney Dream sailing Friday, September 6, and The Disney Fantasy, Saturday, September 7 will sail as scheduled departing from Port Canaveral.
Castaway Cay
All is well at Castaway Cay. Due to the tropical storm conditions the island experienced, we have some cleaning up to do related to landscaping and will need to make minor repairs to the roof of one small covered pavilion area. We also need to evaluate the pier and ship channel, as is required after any storm, before we are able to reopen Castaway Cay to guests.
Bahamas Relief Efforts – NEW
The Walt Disney Company, led by Disney Cruise Line, has committed more than $1 million in cash and in-kind support to help relief and recovery efforts for those in The Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian. Disney’s commitment includes a $1 million donation to non-profit relief agencies who will be undertaking recovery and rebuilding efforts, as well as the provision of supplies – including food staples and basic construction materials – to those in impacted areas. This is just the beginning to help our friends, neighbors, and coworkers in The Bahamas. Our Crew has already sprung into action to help. Yesterday, the Disney Dream dropped off food and water at Castaway Cay for distribution in Sandy Point on Great Abaco Island, which was heavily impacted by Hurricane Dorian and is home to many of our Crew Members. The Disney Fantasy will do the same tomorrow with more deliveries to come.
