PHOTOS & VIDEO: Projection Mapping Added to Muppet*Vision 3D in Disney World!
Disney loves using new technology when it comes to making their theme parks more exciting. It’s happened ever since Disneyland opened in 1955!
We’ve seen things like the Omnimover used in rides like Haunted Mansion, trackless ride systems like Rise of the Resistance, and even drone shows used during the nighttime spectaculars over in Disneyland Paris.
And today, we noticed some exciting technology has been added to an attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios1
Muppet*Vision 3D Updates
There are new specials effects now taking place during Muppet*Vision 3D! Projection mapping effects have been added to the show.
You can really see the new effect when the blue bird explodes during the show.
It blows up, and then you see little versions of him on the walls along the sides of the theater!

This is a new effect, but projection mapping has been used in Disney World for a while. For example, you can see it along Main Street, U.S.A. and on Cinderella Castle during Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom.
The effect definitely adds another layer of immersion to the 3D show.
Make sure you look around in the theater during this part of the show so you can check it out for yourself!
