FIRST LOOK: Construction to Splash Mountain at Disneyland Resort
Our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa are at Disneyland Resort today and they popped by Critter Country to see how construction is coming along on their makeover of Splash Mountain.
Similar to what’s happening at the Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain at Disneyland is getting a re-imagining and will be the West Coast version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
The ride is now covered in scaffolding and cast members are hard at work in making the Splash Mountain transformation.
All of the elements harkening back to Song of the South are being removed. The ride is slated to reopen at some point next year and will whisk guests away to the Bayou we’ll you’ll encounter many of the beloved characters from Princess and the Frog.
Though Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom now has a Tiana-inspired water tower, it’s too early to see real signs of a re-theming at Disneyland.
However, the construction walls around the attraction have a “Tiana’s Place” sign which advertises the restaurant Princess Tiana owns in the film.
We can’t wait to see this new transformation take shape.
We will continue to keep following these updates closely.
