Grandfather Attacked By Security Dog at Disneyland Sues
According to a recent lawsuit filed in Orange County, CA, a Disneyland Security Dog attacked an 81-year-old man from Nevada. The grandfather faced injuries to the stomach area according to the filing. The victim, Paul Perez was attacked on May 10, 2023.
In the lawsuit, Perez accuses Disneyland of negligence and is looking for damages for the pain, suffering, and emotional distress as a result of the attack. Perez also wants to be reimbursed for medical treatment.
According to a recent piece in the OC Register, the member of security handling the security dog moved the animal too close to a crowd of guests. Perez claims that he bumped the dog and it responded by attacking. The plaintiff said that this altercation resulted in the dog biting him in the stomach.
If you’ve spent time at Disneyland or Walt Disney World you’ll know that the K9 Security Unit can regularly be seen around the theme park entrances and are used during the security screening process.
In a statement by Perez’s attorney Ian Pancer, the grandfather was visiting Disneyland Resort with his wife, daughter, and two grandchildren when the attack occurred. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries, was given a course of antibiotics and was left shaken by the incident.
According to the lawyer, Perez is suing for damages. Disney has yet to comment. This is a story that we will continue to follow closely so keep checking back with us.
