Haunted Mansion Reopening DELAYED in Magic Kingdom
Today’s an exciting day for Haunted Mansion fans — well, maybe.
After a very quick refurbishment, Haunted Mansion was scheduled to reopen today in Magic Kingdom, and we were excited to see what may have changed — but things aren’t exactly going to plan.
Haunted Mansion Reopening Delayed
Haunted Mansion was scheduled for a brief refurbishment between August 7th to 9th, and we arrived at Magic Kingdom bright and early this morning to see if anything had changed.
Unfortunately, Haunted Mansion was still closed when we arrived.

According to Cast Members, Haunted Mansion’s reopening has been delayed due to technical issues, and they couldn’t give a timeframe for when exactly the ride would reopen.
At the time of writing around 9:30AM ET, Haunted Mansion has still not reopened (note that Magic Kingdom opened at 9AM today, or 8:30AM for Early Theme Park Entry).
Many fans have been wondering whether this refurbishment was due to regular maintenance or if Disney would quietly install the Hatbox Ghost, a character Disney announced would be added to the ride “later” in 2023.
Currently, Hatbox Ghost only exists in Disneyland’s version of Haunted Mansion, but he will soon arrive in Disney World — unless he’s already there.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this situation, so make sure you’re following MickeyBlog for more Disney news!
